Find a nanny job in Minnesota

Hello and Welcome to Hand In Hand Nannies!  Are you looking for a rewarding career as a nanny in Minnesota?  We know firsthand what it takes to be a loving and passionate nanny and look forward to getting to know you.  It takes a special person to care for children and we are looking for only the best nannies for our families.

Hand In Hand Nanny Requirements:

  • must be 18 years of age or older
  • be a High School graduate
  • legally authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Non-smoker
  • No criminal background
  • Clean driving record
  • Valid and Current Driving License
  • Reliable car with valid car insurance policy
  • 2 years of verifiable childcare experience (may consist of full-time babysitting, daycare center, nanny experience, etc)
  • Commitment of at least one year (excluding summer/temp positions)
  • Professional and reliable with great references

Our Process:

Placing a nanny in a position may take anywhere from 3-8 weeks from application submission to contract finalization and position start date.  Please allow this time frame for us to adequately match you with a family that fits both parties' needs.  In order to start this process, please fill out a Nanny Application and we will then contact you to set up an in person interview.  Please bring along a resume as well as three personal and four professional references to the interview.  We also ask that you bring along any letters of recommendation that you may have from previous families, childcare centers, etc.

After your interview we will call your references and verify your work experience.  We will also run a series of background checks including: criminal history, driving record, social security verification and sex offender database check.  After we have compiled all of your information we will then send your profile out to families that we feel would be a good fit.  Interested families will then have the opportunity to call and set up an interview with you.

Once a family has conducted multiple interviews and selected a nanny, they will contact us with a job offer including salary and benefits.  We will then call the nanny and let her/him know what the offer is to determine if she/he is interested.  If both parties agree on all of the terms we will then provide a Family/Nanny agreement that lays out the duties as well as hours, salary, start date, benefits, etc.  The family will pay the placement fee and each party will sign the contract and the process will be complete.  The nanny will then be removed from our Nanny Profiles.

We like to periodically follow up with both parties after placement to make sure everything is going smoothly and help in any way that we can.  In the event that you have any questions or concerns please don't hesitate to give us a call, we would love to hear from you and help in any way that we can!

We also like to provide all placed families/nannies with a list of children's activities in the area as well as other nanny's contact info in order to set up play dates, if they so choose.  Play dates are great both for the children as well as the nannies and can create lifelong friendships.  In addition to this, we host annual picnics and other events throughout the year and invite all of our nannies and families!  It's great to see everyone and also provides opportunities for the families and nannies to meet each other.

We thank you for your time and consideration as your Nanny Placement Agency and look forward to working with you soon!
